“Going into the district tournament, we knew it was going to be tough to get past Cy Woods and Cy Creek,” said Jersey Village head coach Kevin Casula. “We had an excellent week of preparation where each wrestler knew what they had to do in order to bring home the district title. I’m very proud of the way my kids were able to stay focused and compete on the mat. With only one individual champion (Danny Guillory, 182 pounds), it was a total group effort. It is very exciting to bring a district championship to Jersey Village High School, but even more exciting for it to be the first for the school in the sport of wrestling.”
